Building a business in 2019/2020 is far less expensive than 10 years ago.

You can even start your own business with your computer, a mobile, a website...

Below I will share different strategies to start and run a business.


First of all, you have to consider whether you better try to get a pay raise or build your own business.


Indeed it may take you 3-5 years for your employer to consider getting you a real pay raise. Gain new skills, be involved in projects, constantly reach your targets (in this case, you better go beyond your target!)


In order to get a pay raise, people tend to move to other companies every 2-3 years. And it works. Your experience is taken into consideration by the new employer. However, it may require to move from a city to another, or even to move abroad. Such a change can be too much for some people.


You can of course work at a side job, even though it will definitely deteriorate your quality of life. You won’t have enough time to really take advantage of your new income.

You may even think about building your own business.

These days, it is not necessary to have a lot of money to get your business up and ready and get your first customers.

Usually a laptop and a smartphone are enough to make it work. Sometimes you will only need a smartphone.




Not sure about what to sell? You can sell others products or services.

So what does it really take to build your own business?


It will depend of your business idea. Let's say that you want to sell fancy chairs.

Building your brand awareness will take some time.

So do not focus too much time and energy on it at first.


Observe how other companies work, even if you can’t compare (yet) with your situation.

They have a website, run some ads and use social networks.

If you don't have any product to sell, don't worry. You can start selling other's products (from Amazon or Clickbank for example) and get a percentage for each sale made.

Then start building a strategy to drive traffic to the product you are selling.

Once your website is up and online, consider choosing which social network to use to share information about your offers. It will depend on your products or services.

Google Ads is very effective but tends to be more and more expensive, specially if you don’t use it properly (with expensive and inaccurate keywords).
